Do I need to be a US citizen?

In certain facilities security officers may be required a US citizenship. Other facilities requires at least a permanent residency status. DCJS background check will indicate your eligibility and we will be notified. You will need to be at least 18 years old.

I am an ex-felon or have a misdemeanor, can I still apply to be a security officer?

It depends on the crime you have committed. The Department of Criminal Justice (DCJS) in Virginia makes the determination if an individual is eligible or not. Before you apply, it  is ideal that you take steps to clear your record through a pardon and restoration of rights through the DCJS. Here's a link for more information: https://www.restore.virginia.gov/

You will need to also fill out a Virginia Criminal History Supplemental Form.

Also, ex-felons are limited unarmed security.

Am I required to work at night?

Yes. Most of our security jobs require night security. We have limited day time security sites. Therefore, this job will require you to work in the evenings.

Will I need to travel to my job location?

Yes, you will require a valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple security sites. Therefore, you will need a reliable mode of transportation. Some sites will require you to drive a security patrol vehicle.
